Lachezar Mihaylov is a young Bulgarian footballer playing as a Left/Right Back for FC Botev Plovdiv U15 (as of season 2021/2022). Read the interview below and learn more about him.
1. Tell us about yourself? Since when did you play football?
My name is Lachezar Mihaylov. I’m born on June 12th, 2002 in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Since a little kid I have had a passion for football and I started training at the age of 5. I play for FC Botev Plovdiv since 8 years old.
2. What does football mean to you?
For me football is the most important thing in my life. Football taught me hard work, perseverance and persistence.
3. What are your strengths that make you a good footballer?
I think my biggest strengths that make me a good footballer are my technique, game awareness, endurance and speed.
4. How do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years from now?
In 5 to 10 years I see myself as a professional footballer.
5. What is the biggest challenge for the young footballers in Bulgaria?
I think the biggest challenge for the young footballers in Bulgaria is the limited opportunity to perform in men’s football, at the expense of too many foreigners.
6. Is there a coach or footballer that you admire?
I admire Zinedine Zidane because of his achievements as a footballer and as a coach.
7. Do you have any hobbies or passions outside of sport?
I don’t have any hobbies or passions outside of sport because I dedicate my whole time and energy to football.
8. What does your typical day look like?
My day starts with strength training and then I go to school. Right after school a football practice with my team follows. After 19 o’clock I go back home.
